Shitennoji Temple is Japan's oldest Buddhist temple which was built by Prince Shotoku more than 1,400 years ago.
Currently being used as a district and station name in Osaka "Tennoji" is the abbreviation of "Shitennoji".
This temple was suffering heavy damage from the typhoon and burning down by air raids during the war but it was rebuilt immediately through the efforts of people.
In site of about 110,000㎡, there is a treasure museum that is holding more than 500 national treasures, important cultural properties.
