Inuyama Castle in Aichi Prefecture is one of the 12 castles which built before the Edo era, and is still existing -- it is the precious building specified also as one of the national treasure 5 castles.
It was repaired around 1617 and it is said that it became the present appearance.
Moreover, it has the unusual history that they were cultural assets which the only individual owns in Japan till 2004.
Although it is a compact castle, the wooden warmth by which the history unique to an old castle was ticked can be felt.
